According to Variety and Bloomberg, Microsoft has announced—or will announce in the coming days—massive layoffs affecting around 9,000 positions, roughly 4% of the company's workforce, which until recently totaled 228,000 employees.
I believe this is the outcome smh. They're moving a lot of the workforce and using AI instead. It's quite unfortunate, but they're trying to cut down costs by any means, which is ridiculous when you're a billion dollar company.Oof this isn't good news, it's never good when companies start laying off their employees. With the rise of AI we're going to see it more often though I'm afraid. Not saying these people lost their jobs due to AI, we don't know that but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case. 🙁
