One of the best co-op games I have played with friends is Overcooked. The gameplay is probably the best for multiplayer as you need to be cooperative to crush and serve orders. The game involves communication and collaboration and that makes it very exciting to enjoy with friends.

I'm going to hop onto this discussion and comment about an old game I used to play. On the Nintendo Wii, Wii Fit was a great choice for duo gaming as you could directly compete against one another in tournaments. Not sure if the game is still widely available for more modern Nintendo consoles.
