Who do you believe is the most iconic and memorable video game character ever created? Is it someone who defined an entire generation of gaming, a hero whose adventures shaped your childhood or perhaps a villain who left a lasting impression? What makes this particular character stand out as truly legendary among all others?

I mean if we're talking about the most iconic, it would be Mario hands down.

If we're talking best written characters I would say Kratos over the series and Arthur Morgan for a single game.

Mario certainly is the master of the gaming world, but I would say Master Chief has a place at the top of that list. These are the characters that are legendary and they shape up the whole gaming era.

I know people pick Mario, and without Mario we wouldn't have Sonic. I still prefer Sonic to Mario, so I pick Sonic! Mario would come in second place for me, third would be Lara Croft. I would also say Pikachu is iconic as well, it's the mascot of Pokemon after all. Britain had a list of the most iconic video game characters, somehow the main character from Hitman beat Sonic which IMO wasn't great lol. He isn't that iconic! I don't even recall his name.
