What decade had the best music in your opinion? (1 Viewer)

Like the title states, what decade of music beats every other decade and why do you think that decade had the best music? Is it due to nostalgia, the style, or something else? I've always said that the 80's had the best decade of music. As someone who loves synth based music, a good majority of popular music from this decade used synths. Not only that but hair bands were popular, and hip hop was fresh. I used to tell my mom that I wish I was born in the 80's so I could have appreciated the music better. I was born in 1990 so a good majority of the music I grew up listening to was popular music from the 80's.

Honestly I really enjoy all types of music, old and new. But if I had to choose, 80's had the most identity.

I am a fan of The Doors, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and I think 1960-1980s are the best decade for the music. I am not a fan or modern music. In the past music was pure human creativity, these days it is mostly use of technology.

I'd say the 80s and 90s had the best music. The 80s brought so much varietylike rock, pop, new wave, hip-hop was emerging. Then the 90s had grunge, alternative rock, golden age hip-hop, and R&B at its peak. Both decades just had this raw creativity and experimentation that feels missing now.

In my opinion, I think the 90s had the best music ever. That was when we had Tupac, Nirvana and the rest. That moment just hit differently in the music world. I still got playlists full of that era. I must confess that nothing today gives the same raw vibe.

When I think back to all the music I have listened to over the years, from music my parents used to listen to, to music that I have found myself through listening to playlists on Spotify or even YouTube, I would have to say that music between the 60s and 80s was the best.

I always say when I hear a song from the '60s, '70s, or '80s, how they don't make music like they used to anymore.
