A remaster of The Sims 4 is in development, a known leaker has said, in addition to sharing some other alleged details about the rumored project. Several other sources have also hinted at the possibility of Maxis revisiting The Sims 4, though some of the recently surfaced claims about the remaster raise nearly as many questions as they answer.

An October 2025 The Sims survey referenced a hypothetical new game, describing it as either a "sequel or successor" and asking players whether they'd expect their Sims 4 save files to be at least partially compatible with it. Some fans interpreted this as a sign that Maxis may be considering modernizing the long-running title, which marked its 11th anniversary in September 2025.
