Pokemon Champions Will Be The Official Pokemon VGC Title In 2026 And Possibly Beyond

Not only did we get some big news in the form of the Battle Club multiplayer mode for Pokemon Legends: Z-A - here's a link for that bombshell! - but we also learned something with rather dramatic implications: rather than a traditional mainline title representing Pokemon's VGC in 2026, as they always have in the past, Pokemon Champions will take the throne.

Hardly surprising, considering Champions will be exclusively competitive game. But since they will no longer be using the mainline games, hopefully they have surprises in store to keep it fresh.

That's a huge change for Pokemon tournaments! But yeah, it makes sense since Champions is made just for competitive stuff, not like the regular games that have to worry about story mode too. I wonder how they'll keep things interesting without constantly adding new Pokemon and areas. Hope they've got some cool ideas to shake up the formats and keep it from getting stale.
