Looks like Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have joined together to obtain a US patent for summoning creatures in games. Recently the company went after Pocketpair, the company behind the monster collecting game called Palworld. In that lawsuit, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company had filed a patent for riding creatures in games, Pocketpair had to remove the feature from their game. This patent was filed back in 2024 according to the patent but was just approved recently. There's no telling how this is going to affect games coming out in the future.
