As if the recent delay wasn't already tormenting enough for fans, Google is now recommending a fake Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer to users, courtesy of YouTube channel Teaser Universe. The trailer, titled "Grand Theft Auto VI - Final Trailer (2026) Rockstar Games," is littered with comments from users claiming they had been sent there by Google after receiving a notification that a new trailer had dropped for the game. However, the trailer is not only noticeably fake, but also confirmed to be a fan-made concept trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 by the content creator for the channel.

According to the creator of the video, the fake trailer was made by "combining various effects, sound design, and AI technologies" and is in no way an official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. Teaser Universe's latest gag is just one in a long line of faux trailers for various forms of entertainment, as it has produced videos for movies, television series, and games that do not exist, along with speculative fan projects that sometimes stray into the territory of misleading branding. The GTA 6 fake has quickly become one of its most visible creations, largely due to Google's recommendation system surfacing it for people who were not actively looking for it.

Have you come across the fake trailer since Google started recommending it?
