What is the hardest game you ever played? (1 Viewer)

What's the most brutally difficult game you've ever attempted to beat? I'm talking about those games that made you rage quit, throw controllers or question your gaming skills entirely. Was it something notoriously hard like Dark Souls, Cuphead or maybe an older NES game that had zero mercy? Did you eventually conquer it or did you give up and move on?

Dark Souls nearly broke me lol. That game pushed me to the limit. It took me weeks to beat one boss, I had swore I'd quit gaming forever if otherwise. That's the most interesting part of the game because you always want to go back again because you don't want to lose.

I don't play games that cause me to throw my controller at the wall. If it isn't fun, I don't play it. I'm too old to waste time playing a frustrating game. Give me a good story, decent challenge, and I'm set.

Bear in mind that I haven't attempted the likes of Dark Souls or Bloodborne, yet. I currently give that award to Dante's Inferno.

The game itself was perfectly fine, but beating the EA Trials required for 100% trophies was brutally difficult. It required learning a whole other side to the game instead of rinse and repeat button mashing. Learning the enemies, their strengths and weaknesses, mastering the move set.. I eventually succeeded, but almost threw in the towel. Unfortunately they're no longer available as EA closed the servers.

Dark Souls is brutal, I feel you there. For me, Sekiro was the one that almost broke me. The bosses tested my patience like crazy, but funny enough, beating them felt like the best rush ever. I still remember my hands shaking after finally clearing Genichiro. 🤣

Most of the time when I play any kind of video games, even on hard or expert level, I tend to have a few issues, but over time, I learn from my mistakes and eventually, after many attempts, get through it.

With Cuphead, though, this was a game I found more than difficult; I would go as far as to say impossible. I don't think I have felt rage where I felt I needed to throw my controller. Never went back to the game after that.

Bloodborne, Sekiro, or one of the older Megaman games. Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is pretty frustrating as well.

Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy is a great game but I do have to agree with you, it is super frustrating! I remember it becoming quite popular among streamers and YouTubers when it first released, due to the game's difficulty and the accompanying stress and rage.

I remember trying it once and got so frustrated, much like with Cuphead, I turned it off and never went back.
