Should small children be allowed to play violent video games? Why or Why not? Some parents allow their children and even buy them violent games that are age restricted - is this okay or not?
Obviously there is a reason why games are rated specifically with age. Kids learn a lot from observation, so they might want to practice what they are learning which won't turn out well.
I think video games can help develop kid's imagination and critical thinking skills. Games like Minecraft, Age of Empires, etc...I grew on these games and I believe it helped develop my brain.
Nah little kids shouldn't be playing those violent games. Those age ratings exist for a reason, you know? Kids are still figuring out right from wrong. Parents buying M-rated stuff for like 8-year-olds is kinda messed up. Teens can probably handle it fine, but it really just depends on how mature the kid is.
Children should not play violent video games. Perhaps, those games should have age ratings to safeguard the children. This is because they can imitate the aggressive behaviour in the game and that is why parents should ensure that they stick to games that suit their age.
I don't think anyone would agree that kids should be allowed to play violent games. Even though I believe kids should be allowed to play games, violent games should be big no for kids. I think kids under 16 should be restricted from very violent games.
ESRB exists for a reason. When I was a kid in the early 2000s, a lot of parents just ignored the age rating and then got upset when the video game they bought their kids wasn't family-friendly. My parents actually considered the age rating and did research for themselves as well to ensure my brother and me were engaging with age-appropriate content. Even getting Super Smash Bros. Melee was a challenge for us because of the (undeserved) T rating.
