Sony reportedly releasing a new DualSense controller with replaceable battery (1 Viewer)

Yeah, it's about time.. As much as I like the DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers, their battery life is pretty terrible.

Yeah, main reason I don't use them. I have a pack of rechargeable batteries always ready to swap for when my Xbox controller is out of juice. Much more convenient than having to charge the controller.

I totally agree, a replaceable battery should've been standard from the start. I've lost count of how many times my DualSense died in the mid-session of the game, and I had to sit in an awkward position close to the console while charging. Xbox had the right idea with swappable batteries. Honestly, I'd rather buy a pack of AA rechargeables than deal with a controller that slowly dies after a year or two

I lost count of the number of times I mentioned that I would love to see Sony release a controller with a replaceable battery. The battery life on the current DualSense controller is terrible. I won't deny that, but once the battery completely dies, you have no choice but to buy a new controller, which I will admit, did push me towards thinking that was Sony's way of making more money.

Seems they have realised the error or their ways and I am glad to see they are not releasing a new DualSense controller with a replaceable battery.
