In an effort to be transparent, this thread will be dedicated to any feature updates released on altBoards.

First feature release is avatar frames!



This feature can be accessed by going to your Account Details.

As you will see in the screenshot, we have a few included avatar frames. The rest are accessible by accumulating trophy points. For information on how to gain more trophy points, click here. These avatar frames will be visible almost anywhere your avatar is and will allow you to express your personality a bit. These will be expanded as time allows.

The Steam points shop has an excellent collection of avatar frames, so I must give credit to Steam for these. If anyone would like any avatar frames added, let me know and we can look into it.

As a reminder, we do support GIF's for avatars, so you can make some pretty neat combinations.

New one-click sign in options are now available!

Google has been available for some time, but now Apple, Steam, and Discord are here as well. If you would like to link your existing account to these providers, click here.

I should start implementing one-click sign in options on my communities as well! I think more people will be inclined to join if they just need to log in using an already existing account. Plus it makes sense to have Steam and Discord as options since they're catered to gaming of course!

I was going to add Facebook, but I didn't realize you have to submit a Business Review with actual documents to gain access to login with facebook. 💀

Next feature roll out is selectable logos! This feature is a bit silly, but adds a bit of fun to the site.

We now have a calendar featuring upcoming video game releases through 2025. This is a nice way to view upcoming game releases. It's accessible under the Browse menu tab.

We now have a news ticker that will be displayed at the top of the forum rotating headlines from our RSS feeds.

I built a new application using the CheapShark API to find and filter video game deals. This is a just a side project of mine and figured it might by useful. It's available under the browse menu.

Console filters have been added to the release calendar. PC is turned off by default due to the much larger data set. I was also able to add an export ics function. This adheres to your selected console filters.

Vastly improved mobile experience. Mobile experience behaves more like an app with an emphasis on bottom controls and readability.



I have added a few buttons for better accessibility in the navigation bar.

1. Support for changing font sizes for users who have trouble reading. Available on desktop and mobile.
2. Button to change the width of the forum. Desktop only.
3. Refresh button. Desktop only.
