For those that don't know, I've been in Asia since October 25th. Been in Japan since October 31st.

I've been going to a few thrift stores in every city so far. Been to Tokyo and now I'm in Sapporo.

Sopporo has been amazing for handhelds. Tokyo was a bit pricey so I held off. I'll go through what I've gotten so far.

PS Vita 2000 - Aqua Blue - 16,000 yen ($104 USD)

I'm astounded at the price of these and they are all in great condition. I won't keep all of them and will probably sell a few back home to make my money back.
Will definitely sell the white PS Vita for close to double and keep the blue vita.

The black Gameboy is missing the glass plate, but otherwise in perfect condition. I can get a new one for a few bucks back home.

I'm especially surprised at the cost of the DSI's. Got it for $33 and could easily sell it for $100+ back in the states with the handheld market the way it is. There were 3 more I saw around that price and will probably go back tomorrow and get the rest.

Solid pickups man. Can't believe some of the prices on these. I'd love to go to Japan someday for the soul purpose of video game & console collecting, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

That's pretty cool! I've definitely heard retro prices are better for a lot of stuff in Japan versus the United States. Glad your treasure hunt has proved fruitful!

Went out again hunting today:

Was really pleased finding the Green DSI LL complete in box for only $40. There is some slight yellowing but otherwise in great condition.

The other DSI's I got between $33 and $60. A bit of yelling on the $33 one but other ones are really good.

The red vita I found in excellent condition for $113.

Japanese games and consoles are much cheaper than they are elsewhere in the world for sure! I think since games originate from Japan, they made more units of specific consoles/handhelds and games over there. I have a few Japanese games in my collection, but they all came from my Retro Game Treasure box subscription. I don't have any Japanese consoles though, so the games I have for the PS2 and Gamecube I'll have to mod my consoles to play. I have means of playing Famicom and Super Famicom games though and most of the handheld games are region free. Nice pickups though these are really cool!
