Is playing music allowed in your office? (1 Viewer)

I've noticed that there are offices where staff members are allowed to play music. Inasmuch as you shouldn't be playing it for long, you have that opportunity to play it there. In my office, one is allowed to play music, but ensure that you are using an earplug when playing the music. How is it in your office?

I work from home, I don't go to work. I have a home office but I don't play music while working, I find music to be distracting. However, I wasn't always like this. In the past, playing music on the background helped me with my work.

We're allowed to listen to our own music in my office. Our part of the bank allows MP3 players, but other parts do not and they can only listen to FM radio or bring a CD player with up to two official CDs so employees don't have a chance to record or steal information about customers. I work in the national lockbox portion that processes internal payments and quite a few different payments from other companies. The other part of the bank processes Government accounts so it's definitely more strict in that part of the bank.

No, we are not allowed to play music at work especially during working hours. You can do anything you want during your break time but it's full time focus on work when the break is over.

Where I worked was a corporate company and it doesn't make sense to play music in such an environment. it wasn't allowed loudly but you could use earphones. Once you play music out loud, one supervisor will just appear to caution or fine you.

I work in an environment where music is part of the way to attract customers. My own office is more relaxed. People actually play soft music from a small speaker and nobody complains as long as it's not too loud. Fridays are even worse because it's gyrating all through. 🤣

Yeah, we're allowed to play music with earphones. Surprisingly we're even able to use the likes of Spotify, even though I'd have put money on it getting blocked.

I often don't bother unless the chat in the office becomes monotonous, as I've never been able to focus particularly well with music playing.
