Halo: Campaign Evolved is officially in the works, as Microsoft unveiled a remake of the first Halo game's main campaign for multiple platforms, including the PS5, in 2026. While the Halo franchise is finally arriving on PlayStation with Halo: Campaign Evolved, the remake of the first Halo title will not include any online PVP multiplayer modes, aside from campaign co-op for up to four players.

If you told me 10 years ago, Halo, Forza, and Gears of War would all be on Playstation in some capacity, I would of laughed in your face. But here we are.

Aside from that, I'm looking forward to this remake. During the 360 era, I had a PS3, so never got involved in Halo. Will most likely pick this up when it comes to experience it.

I wasn't a huge Halo fanboy, but still felt that the first three games played really well.

It looks like Microsoft are going to be milking the cash cow with individual releases rather than bringing "collection" releases, but if it ensures a platinum for each title then I'm all for it.

The trailer looks great.

This is crazy to me. I remember playing Halo 1-3 and Reach on Xbox 360 in the late 2000s/early 2010s, and it was the Xbox franchise. Xbox 360 versus PS3 was the hottest console war since the Super Nintendo versus the Sega Genesis.

The idea that Halo is coming to PlayStation is the ultimate white flag in that war. I really liked the Xbox brand back in the day and thought it was really cool, so it's a bit disappointing to see its final collapse as a console. Albeit, I definitely like the Master Chief Collection to come to Nintendo Switch 2, portable Halo on an actually-good gaming handheld would be sick.

The important question is still: will it have couch co-op?

Happy to have more Halo but still not really trusting Microsoft to give this franchise the love it deserves for what it did for the Microsoft Xbox gaming console legacy.

I was going to say the same thing 🙂

I am a huge fan of Halo, and seeing it coming to PlayStation is not something I thought we would ever see.

I think this is great, as it gives more players the ability to check out Halo if they never have before, for example, if they have always been a PlayStation player.

I believe this was already confirmed. In fact, the article I read said how co-op, both couch and online, are the focus of this remake, and is also the reason why there is no PvP.

After missing the mark with Halo 4, 5, and Infinite, I have a lot of doubt about Halo Studios, previously going by the maiden name of 343 Industries, is able to make a Halo game that can even hold a candle to Bungie's previous work.

Also, I don't see a reason to play another remaster of Halo 1 when I could just play Bungie's impeccable original or 343's original remaster.

Agree.

I loved the remastered Halo:CE and Halo 2. Not sure I want to play a Halo: Campaign Evolved, which supposedly uses a lot of the original renders and doesn't seem to improve on much. Probably just another game where they take an old version, add a new coat of paint and call it a day.

I haven't played the game so I have no idea about the remake. For those who have played Halo, I would like to ask what is good about this game? Give me a couple of reasons why I should play this game.

I personally am not really a fan of this news but hey if you're a fan of Halo but have a PS5 then I suppose it's good news for you lol. I heard they're getting rid of multiplayer so it's going to be a watered down version. I really miss the days of console exclusives... at least Nintendo is keeping that alive. I have a PS5 and Xbox Series S, so this news doesn't really affect me. However, I have a feeling this is going to continue to do harm to the Xbox brand.
