Forza Horizon 6 seems to have been inadvertently leaked by the unlikeliest source ahead of the game's impending release. Earlier today, it appears that Playground Games posted an unencrypted repository of Forza Horizon 6 files on Steam, containing thousands of assets across 155 GB of content.

Appears they they forgot to encrypt the payload. Someone is definitely getting reprimanded. But I'll be interested to hear about the game before release.

Seems like quite a rookie "mistake" to make in this day and age.

The only FH game I've played was the original on Xbox 360, though I'm tempted by FH5 now that it's available on PS5. How has the series developed over the years?

I don't play a lot of racing games, but I put a fair amount of hours into Horizon 4. Skipped 5, wasn't a fan of the Mexico setting. One thing I'll always give credit to the Horizon team for is their optimization skills. They're games always perform beautifully and if you want a no frills racing game, the horizon series is great.

4 is definitely my favorite. Next time I get a racing itch, I'll try out 6. I'm a big fan of games set in Japan.

My son told me about this, and he said that some people had gotten banned after playing it early due to the leak.

That has got to suck for those who chose to play it early after the leak, but I feel it was a little harsh for them to be banned and not just given a warning, if indeed the bans were true.
