Do you buy new video games every year? (1 Viewer)

What is the habit like when it comes to buy new video games? Do you try as much as possible to always upgrade your gaming library each year that comes by or do you skip buying games in a particular year in order to play all the ones that you currently have on your backlog?

I used to collect video games until my back log grew to an enormous size. Now I just buy games that interest me and I'll actually play.

Depends. I collect retro games (N64 and before, mainly) so if I see one for cheap I'll buy it, spend a little more if I actually plan on playing it. As for games on Steam and such, I just buy a couple per sale. I've kept this mentality for ages though, so I only have about 10 games in my backlog that I seriously want to play soon.

It depends. If I can financially afford it and I've purchased and put savings aside, then yes. But finances aside it also depends on what titles have been released and whether any spark my interest in them.

I don't buy new games every single year but I do pick up a few when something really catches my eye or gets amazing reviews. I'm more of a "wait for sales" person honestly.

I do not buy new video games every year. I just play only what I have in my collection and I will take new games only when I am interested in them. I try to keep my gaming experience within manageable limits.

Well, it looks like I am buying at least one game every year in the last 5-6 years. Sometimes I even end up buying as many as 5 games.

Yep I buy at least one new game every year. My favorite gaming franchise, which is Sonic usually has a game released yearly. I always get new Sonic games since I would love to own all of them someday. Otherwise if there's a game that looks interesting then I will also buy that as well. My wife buys newer games more than me though.

If you pay attention to the market, and if you enjoy gaming, I am sure you will always end up buying a few games every year. These days studios and developers are even releasing old games, and we end up buying a new version of the same game that we have been playing for years..
