Verbal warnings are zero-point warnings, or notices given by the staff. While they do not lead to any actions taken against the account, they serve as a note for staff members. Verbal warnings may be appealed like any other warning.
By default, all warning points on altBoards have a duration of SIX (6), months unless an administrator alters them for a specific circumstance. The consequences for accumulating warning points are as follows:
After SIX (6) months, these points will reset. If you accumulate 4 warning points within a SIX (6) month period you will be permanently banned from altBoards.
There may be specific circumstances where the transgression is serious enough that we move to a permenant ban in cases such as racism, discrimination, hate speech, or other serious issues.
For transparency, members of altBoards can access a public banned users list with reasons for each ban.
As a member of altBoards, you have the right to appeal any disciplinary action taken by the staff, including warning points, verbal warnings, and suspensions/bans. This can include appealing the number of warning points received, the duration of a thread ban, or even the justification for the disciplinary action or verbal warning itself. Similarly, if you are banned from a specific forum or the entire site, you can appeal that decision too.
